According to him, “As human beings, we are not infallible, I accept my mistakes to which I tender my unreserved apology. In the same spirit, others who might have similarly made mistakes; I accept theirapologies. Let us therefore in this spirit and for the sake of our party; forgive ourselves. We cannot continue to apportion blames but to accept that we are all humans.

In a letter signed by the two-term governor, who is now the deputy national chairman (South) of the APC in the country, he acknowledged the contributions of members to the success of the party during the 2011 and 2015 elections in the State. He added that if the party had a setback in the 2019 elections, it is honorable for all members to accept that they contributed directly or indirectly.

He wrote further that the party has been offered a unique opportunity once again to rebuild, re-invigorate, reposition andconsolidate it for the challenges ahead.”

He added thatAs the party in power from 2011-2019 in Oyo state, we succeeded in setting a template for good governance with visibleand laudable infrastructural and socio-economic developments, which have been widely acknowledged by all and sundry.

We should, therefore, be proud of our achievements and build on them to ensure a greater, stronger and virile party both at the state and the national levels.

He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership of the party, and members of the national executive council (NEC) and national working committee National (NWC) for finding him worthy of his new appointment.

The letter is coming in the wake of the exchange of words between members of the party as a result of the internal crisis riping it apart since the controversy that followed the conduct of its primary elections in 2019.
