Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary, the Chairman of the Park Management System, PMS, in Oyo State has ordered the dismissal of some park managers in the State.
While speaking with newsmen, Auxiliary said that some of the park managers concerned were given the opportunity to fair hearing during the disciplinary hearing of the PMS that took place on Friday, March 20, 2020, which had in attendance members of the PMS disciplinary committee.
In a letter confirming the dismissal, the association wrote, “Having taken all of the facts and circumstances into consideration, the PMS chairman decided to summarily dismiss their services as park managers with immediate effect.”
The chairman explained that the erring members were dismissed for various reasons like gross misconduct, the printing of fake tickets, money extortion from innocent drivers, bullying, and high-handedness which are all against the rules guiding the activities of the association.
Auxiliary also stated that the need to punish the erring members for their misconduct is a result of various allegations leveled against the system by the public which was escalated during a recent phone-inprogram held on one of the media stations in the state.
He maintained that the association’s good name must not be tainted by some miscreants. He added that “that no stone will be left unturned to ensure accountability, discipline and fairness in the affairs of the Park Management System” in the State.
