There was confusion at Aremo community, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Sunday as two warring groups clashed leaving destruction in their trails.

According to PUNCH, trouble started between the Irefin boys and the Paadi boys in the late evening on Sunday.

Findings revealed that some shops were vandalised and looted during the fracas between the cult groups that attacked each other with dangerous weapons.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the trouble had yet to be ascertained as the police said the matter was under investigation.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, told our correspondent that efforts had been intensified to bring the situation under control and investigate the cause of the incident.

A resident of the Aremo community, speaking under the condition of anonymity, said normalcy had been restored to the area.

It will be recalled that one person was killed with five others injured recently during hoodlums’ attack in the community.

The witness said that the violence might be a reprisal attack.
