The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa federal constituency, Shina Peller, looks determined to join a new party if things don’t go as planned at the primaries of the All Progressives Congress, OYOINSIGHT.COM can report.

Peller had earlier in the month declared to run for the Oyo North senatorial district. He is currently set to go head-to-head with Fatai Buhari, the incumbent seeking a third term in office, at the party’s primaries next week.

However, in a video verified by this newspaper, the lawmaker, in a raised voice, told his close associates he is not afraid to decamp to a new party to realise his senatorial ambition.

“A ma lo new party, kode si nkan to ma sele,” the Iseyin-born politician said in the yoruba language in the video. (which loosely translates to: We’ll use a new party, and nothing will happen).

Peller also explained to his associates in the video that the dynamics of the electoral campaign in the country have changed because, unlike before, candidates now have about eight months to mobilise after the primaries.

This newspaper gathered from multiple sources that Peller’s ambition is hinged on the Oke-ogun l’okan agenda that the region, which houses ten of the thirteen local governments in the district, should produce the next senator.
