Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Professor Jesse Otegbayo, has assured job placements for the best 20 medical students of the 2018/2019 class at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan.
Professor Otegbayo made this known on Wednesday at the induction of the 104 granduands into the Medical and Dental professions at Paul Henderickse Lecture Theatre, UCH, Ibadan.
Professor Otegbayo who noted that the induction ceremony tallied with the hospital’s 62nd anniversay, said “UCH, Ibadan, as the best performing health institution in West Africa, would contribute more efforts towards making life easy for humanity.”
He admonished the graduands on the need to observe the 4R’s of life.
“Remember your parents in all you do for their immense contributions towards making you who you are, remember those who have helped you in life, remember your alma mater and remember to take proper care of yourselves,” Professor Otegbayo said.
While congratulating parents, guardians and relatives of the granduands, the vice chancellor of the university, Professor Idowu Olayinka, represented by the Provost, College of Medicine, Professor Oluwabunmi Olapade-Olaopa, lauded the contributions of Professor Otegbayo towards the provision of an enabling clinical platform to train the inductees.
He urged the inductees to develop good character in the practice of their professions.
Also present at the occasion were the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr. T.A Sanusi: Deputy provost, College of Medicine, Professor Obafunke Denloye; president of Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Assocation (ICOMAA), Dr Abib Olamitoye, chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Oyo State branch, Dr Akin Sodipo; secretary to the College and Deputy Registrar, Dr. Ikeoluwapo Moody; provost of the Postgraduate College, Professor Babalola, Elder Okesola Augustine; the Medical Librarian, Dr. Joseph Igbeka, among others.
