Ahead of the Presidential election scheduled to hold on February 25, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, met with Yoruba traditional rulers in Ibadan on Thursday.

The meeting, which had in attendance traditional rulers from the six south west states and some parts of Kogi and Kwara states, was presided by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi.

In a communique issued on behalf of the monarchs after the meeting, they expressed satisfaction with the briefing presented by the former Lagos State Governor.

“The Royal Fathers expressed satisfaction with the briefings he gave concerning his aspiration. They acknowledged Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s solid democratic credentials and unwavering commitment to the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.

“The meeting affirms the preeminent qualification of HE Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the highest office of Nigeria. They renewed their faith in the steady democratic growth of the country and reiterated their belief that equity and justice are prerequisites for unity, peace, progress and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the communique, signed on behalf of the monarchs by the Director General of Conscience of Yoruba Nation, Kole Omololu, indicated.

The monarchs also expressed concern about the recent hardship suffered by the Nigerians due to the perennial fuel scarcity and the Naira redesign policy.

To curb this, they urged the Federal Government to adopt a “more humane handling of these challenges to free the people from high-handedness, poverty and want.”

The entourage of the Presidential candidate had eminent personalities like the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; Former Governors Bisi Akande and Kayode Fayemi of Osun and Ekiti States respectively among others
