The United States government’s interest in STEM education to provide students with opportunities to “contribute to creating sustainable and inclusive economic prosperity in Nigeria” collaborates with the Global Air Drone Academy and Art Technology of Lagos in organising a drone soccer competition held in Lagos on the 8 of December, 2023 at the LandMark Events Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Vale Phoenix team which includes Jediah Adedeji, Tofunmi Ibitoye, Alimat Adetunji, David Okotieboh, Ademide Adegoke, Pemisire Emida and their coach Mr. Samuel Sodeke emerge as runner up in the competition.
The Vale College was the only school from Ibadan, and this is made possible because of its strength in Robotics and Coding.
The US consulate and Global Air Drone Academy hosted the second edition of the drone soccer competition grand finale with six teams competing from different schools in South West, Nigeria. In attendance was also the British High Commissioner to Nigeria.
Co-founder of the U.S headquartered Global Air Drone Academy, Eno Umoh explained that one of the key objectives of the program was to impact young people in STEM field.
The Director of the Vale College, Ibadan, Mrs. Funso Adegbola in her congratulatory message to the team, reaffirmed her commitment to quality education and empowering young minds.
