Tegbe: My Decision To Step Down Was A Tough One But…


Engr Joseph Olasunkanmi, who was Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s preferred governorship candidate but was asked to step down has thanked his supporters within and outside the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Political pundits and partymen has predicted victory for the Ibadan born politician at yesterday’s primaries that took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Few hours to the exercise, Tegbe and others were asked to step down for the immediate past deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Oloye Bayo Adelabu.

The financial expert cum engineer in a statement obtained by OYO INSIGHT, reads: Dear comrades, avid supporters and faithful members of our great party – the All Progressives Congress (APC), with all sense of responsibility and respect, I withdrew from the Oyo State APC 2019 Gubernatorial primary election held yesterday.

After various consultations with our party leaders, this tough decision was taken in the best interest of our progressive party and its leadership; to promote oneness and unity of our great party.

I am truly honoured to have embarked on such a remarkable journey with you all. Our tours of the wards and local governments have stoked my faith in our great State, and I am confident that our message of consolidation and sustainable development will live on to #MakeOyoFirstAgain.

I pledge my support to fulfilling our party’s great vision for Oyo State. My sincere appreciation to our 

• Party Leader, His Excellency, Governor Abiola Ajimobi; 

• Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi; 

• APC State Party Chairman, Chief Akin Oke and

• The entire State & Local Government party leadership.
