He delivered a lecture on the topic: Youth leadership and Enterpreneirship, The role of Research for Development in key sectors.

During this lecture, he revealed that there is a disinterest in Agriculture which leads to acute shortage of farm labour and in turn causes production shortage and food security in Africa.

“Science is needed to propel innovation and bring about positive transformation,” Akinbamijo said, adding that Africa needs to accept an ‘Holistic Empowerment for Livelihood Program’.

He also stated that Science and Youths are the drivers of transformation noting that no nation will develop than its science.

“Nigeria is as strong as its capacity to embrace technology. It is a safe metric for development. We count on our youths to generate innovation and bring about waves of creative disruption,” Dr. Akimbamijo said.

He also charged youths, especially students of the institution, to embrace industrial agriculture, education and entrepreneurship.

“If any student finish from this institution and he or she is still searching for job vacancies, then this school has failed,” he added.
