The Supreme Court judgement in favour of Oyo ALGON is a landmark one, setting four precedents, viz:

• that in the previous judgments, especially on Ekiti, Supreme Court only directed Fayemi to pay salaries only to the sacked local government chairmen and councillors while in the recent Supreme Court judgement, involving Oyo ALGON, the apex court directed Makinde to pay both salaries and ALLOWANCES of the illegally sacked chairmen and councillors;

• that the payments of salaries and allowances to the sacked chairmen and councillors be extended till March 2022, though their tenure ends May 11, 2021;

• that the Attorney General of Oyo state was MANDATED by the Supreme Court to file an affidavit on or before August 7, giving deadline to make the payments immediately possible to prevent deliberate excuses of ‘no funds’ by the state government;

• that an exemplary cost of 20million naira is to be paid by Seyi Makinde as a punishment for his executive impunity.

Please, I can’t explain simpler than this. Whoever is dexterous at explaining in simplest terms should help drum these explanations into duller ears of the PDP members, basking in pyrrhic euphoria, that the Supreme Court judgement was NOT in their favour.

The judgement is a vindication that late Senator Abiola Ajimobi was a upholder of rule of law. The judgement confirms that APC is a party which believes in the legalities of electoral processes. The recent judgement has resolved the agelong local government elections imbroglios created by Ladoja government, having sacked the local government chairmen and councillors, elected by the OYSIEC as convened by late Lam Adesina and approved by the then Oyo state House of Assembly, led by Hon Asimiyu Alarape. The perennial challenges of disruption in local government administration in Oyo state has finally been laid to rest, courtesy of the ingenuity of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Oyo APC.

Whatever some misled members of the public may think, APC is a party which holds the rope of hope for a thriving Oyo state!
