A group, Seyi Makinde Movement for Good Governance, SMMFGG, has reacted to statement credited to former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala that Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, and Adebayo Adelabu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, should not rejoice yet as the Supreme Court delivers judgement in the case brought before it by Adelabu.

Alao-Akala, OYOINSIGHT had reported, was quoted in an interview with Nigerian Tribune that anything is possible at the Supreme Court.

The former governor, who is a chieftain of the opposition APC, had pitched tent with Adelabu after he initially convening a coalition meeting against the APC ahead of last March 2019 election.

The attention of Seyi Makinde Movement for Good Governance has been drawn to the statement made by former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala on the Oyo State Governorship election matters which is before Nigeria’s Supreme court.

2. Alao Akala’s statement though unbecoming of a former governor is not unexpected considering his penchant for political misadventures.

3. It should be be recollected that Chief Akala in an interview with BBC early this year had written off  Engr Seyi Makinde in terms of winning the 2019 governorships election but God has put him to shame with the outcome of the March 2019 election where the electorates humiliated Adelabu and crown  Seyi Makinde as the legitimate governor of Oyo state. So Chief Akala should stop playing God on the election matter before the Supreme Court. The Lord that has started good thing in the life of Governor Seyi Makinde with the victory at the election as well as at the Election Tribunal and the Court of appeal will perfect it at the apex court in the interest of the good people of Oyo state and their traducers like Alao Akala will taste monumental shame.

4. We recall that in March this year Chief Akala abandoned his governorship bid on the pot porridge promised by the APC leader in Lagos. His former loyalists in the APC warned him that he had taken a job that will demystify him and striphim politically naked. He failed to listen and an *Otoge* march erupted in Ogbomosho his political base. The outcome is that he failed to get Adelabu elected and many of his followers abandoned him and joined Governor Seyi Makinde in his bid to turn the state around. For Akala to expect the apex court to dash them the victory which they failed to get on the political field is to engage in an illusion of unimaginable proportion.

5. We implore the people of Oyo State to remain calm and continue to pray for the success of the GSM administration and pray  unto God give judicial and political victory to Engr Seyi Makinde over those who have declared themselves as opponents of the peaceful and steady being recorded presently in Oyo State.
