Bid by Teslim Folarin, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, has continued to receive major boost and support.
Minister of youths and sports development, Sunday Dare, said that the three-term senator has all it takes not only to dislodge the incumbent but to offer good governance the people of the state have missed in close to four years.
According to the Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland, who spoke while featuring on a political programme on Omoluabi 87.7 FM, Ibadan, he said he would team up with others to ensure the APC wins all elections in the state.
He revealed that many aggrieved members of party have been appealed to and that in the coming days many more people would be visible.
”We have a better candidate in Oyo State. And I have no doubt in my mind that he would defeat the incumbent. He was the leader of the state and he is a three-term senator. Over the years, he has garnered needed leadership experiences that can be deployed in making things work for good in our state.
“I am with him and there is no doubt about that. We may have a point where we disagree but that is normal in politics. We have discussed and have discovered that we all need to work together. We were in government for 8 years and we shouldn’t have lost the state but for division. I think we have all learnt our lessons,” he said.
Dare, who would be launching Tinubu Door To Door , TDTD, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital today, said the federal government would address the scarcity of fuel and new naira notes in few days to come, urging residents and especially not to be violent in their approach.
This was just as he called on the people of the state to not only support the presidential aspiration of Bola Tinubu but canvass to their neighbours on the need to have him as Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
”I have worked with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for close to three decades and I can tell you that among those jostling to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari. He is passionate about the country. He has workable plans. His manifesto isn’t bogus. It is just like that of late Obafemi Awolowo. He has the ability to assemble men who can do the job. Let’s support him.”
Earlier on the show, Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Lagos senator and minister, urged the people of the state to elect Folarin as their next governor.
”I have been friend with Sen. Folarin for quite a while and I can say he knows how to tackle issues and get result. When you sit down with him and he analyses the state for you and solutions, you will not buy agree that he is the man for the job. Maybe because he has been around for long, his plans for the state are pro-masses. I want to sell Sen. Folarin to the good people of Oyo State. He is someone I can vouch for,” he explained.
On Tinubu, Obanikoro said that Nigeria would be lucky to have him as president as these trying times, adding that the former Lagos governor is a prayer answered for the country.
“Right from the inception of this fourth republic, I have been more closer to him. You know how he joined others to fight for this democracy we enjoy. You know how he jerked the Lagos internally generated revenue from a paltry N600,000,000 to N5,000,000,000 in few years. In fact, most of the things Lagos is commissioning now were product of Tinubu’s administration of 1999 and 2007. Lagos is the smallest and most populous. It is the most visited in the country. Why is it so? It is Asiwaju’s visionary leadership. We stand to gain more if he is elected,” Obanikoro explained.
