Youth Minister Sunday Dare has congratulated the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology(LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State for emerging the best State University in Nigeria.
Dare, who is from Ogbomoso and holds the chieftaincy title of AGBAAKIN of Ogbomoso, commended the management of the University for maintain a high academic standard inspite of daunting challenges, urging them to maintain the tempo.
Apart from being rated the best State University, LAUTECH also finished in fourth place among all Nigerian universities – Federal, State and Private.
University of Ibadan, Redeemers University and Covenant University are the universities ranked ahead of LAUTECH.
Titled 2021 ranking of Nigerian Uniiversities, the ranking instituted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), is one of the several drivers of quality improvement of the Nigerian University system. It is powered by the League of Directors of Academic Planning (LDAPs) of all universities in Nigeria.
It is one of the several projects of Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of NUC and implemented under the auspices of the NUC Strategy Advisory Committee (STRADVCOM).
Its formal launch for the 2021 rankings was done on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
