A community-based group, Muslim Committee of Friends, Oyo, has frowned against the relocation of Police Mobile Squadron Base from Oyo to Ago-Are.
This is just as the group, in a statement jointly signed by its chairman and secretary, Mogaji Hassan Adeyemi and Alhaji S. Salam, commended the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi for his efforts in facilitating development to the ancient town.
OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that the siting of the PMS Base had caused a spar between the government and the people of Oyo.
While Oba Adeyemi was said to have written the inspector general of police for the siting of the PMS in Oyo and it was approved for the town, Makinde said he was not aware of Alaafin’s letter and that he had already chosen Ago-Are as a suitable location.
