Stepping into the hub, you are welcomed by walls — all shades of purple. Even though its October, the arrival of PurpleApril is an August one. Located few minutes from Agbowo expressway, the beauty hub is set to take the beauty industry to the next level, per the founders, PurpleApril as they are fondly known.
“Purple is for royalty. When people come here, we want them to feel like Royalty,” one of the founders told OYOINSIGHT.COM on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.
The hub offers services like facial beautification, massage therapy, breast enlargement, skin and teeth lightening, manicure and pedicure among others. And for each of the services it offers, the salon has a separate section to ensure customers derive maximum satisfaction.
“This is a beauty hub and basically what we would be doing is that we’ll be taking care of the skin. We’ll also be taking care of the facial appearance to make sure we are able to give that to you. We have the spa room for the breast and also massage therapy where you can come in after a long day to calm your nerves and relax,” one of the founders said.
The hub’s teeth whitening section is designed for customers to whiten their teeth and remove the stains from food and tatters hidden there after eating. “The pedicure session where we take care of your feet. If you also want to take care of your nails. We also have the manicure where we have different colours, we also have some stones which we apply to make it glitter.”
“For our spa session, we have what we call derma-rolling facials. These types of facials help a whole lot with acne problems. Most people have pimples and they are all always like should I try this or this. We don’t do anything that is organic or anyhow, what we use are products that are dermatologically proven and internationally recognized so when you come here you would be so sure you would leave with a clear difference.”
“Our target audience is basically the youth,” PurpleApril says emphatically. “We all want to look good, feel fresh so that when we go out there people compliment us.”
But the perennial question is whether young people can afford it. Smiling, one of them responded, this time with an affirmative voice, “Of course, our services are very affordable. It’s just like walking into any salon. We want to make it affordable to anybody not just students so our prices are what you see when you walk into any store but in a more comfortable and conducive environment. You can come in here and take pictures you can post on Instagram and share with your friends and they would be like this place is cool. This is like something you would find in secluded areas like GRA, Lekki and the likes. But this place, we want people who are going to school and living around here to also be able to walk into a fine and conducive place.”
Speaking further, she noted that the hub’s unique selling point is the level of professionalism deployed by its staff members in the discharge of their respective duties. “We don’t have people that when you come in they would give you what is in their head, we want you to get what you want. This is you getting exactly what you ordered.”
“In the next 5 years we want to have franchises, by the grace of God. We want to have people walk in to tell us they want to open a spa but they would like to use our name. We also want to have branches in other parts of Nigeria. The competition is there but we believe we can do it because our service is top notch and we have professionals who can give you exactly what you want,” she added
