Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, says he will meet with every state governor to discuss areas of immediate intervention and respond swiftly.
Dare stated this during a press parley held at the University of Ilorin’s multipurpose hall after the just-concluded National Youth Games.
“We’ll reach out to the National Economic Council, the council where you have all the governors chaired by the vice president,” Dare said.
“Ministers are allowed to make presentations I’ll do that and be a voice to all sports directors in every state. I’ll book appointment to meet with every governor one-on-one.
“But, before I do that I’ll have to sit with directors of sports in the states to know the immediate priority areas that require attention.
The minister also met outstanding talents discovered at the Games, congratulating them and assuring them of his plans to have the ministry collaborate with their respective federations in developing their talents.
“The ministry has an existing plan to turn these young ones to the federations. The work of the federations is to develop these talents further as an extension of the ministry’s vision for youth development,” he added.
