SPEAKERSHIP: APC NEC Members Want Oyo Candidate To Lead 9th Assembly

Some members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have backed the agitation of Oyo State to produce the speaker the 9th National Assembly.

There are four ranking members from Oyo APC- Prince Akeem Adeyemi (Oyo federal constituency), Hon. Olusegun Odebunmi (Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere federal constituency), Hon. Olu Akintola (Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency) and Hon. Olajide Olatubosun (ATISBO/Saki East/ Saki West federal constituency)

A member of the National Executive Committee of APC from North East disclosed this after a meeting of stakeholders on the project in Ibadan.

The party chieftain who preferred anonymity, said they are mobilising stakeholders from other zones to ensure the position of speakership is zoned to Oyo State.

“Obviously Oyo State has ranking members of the National Assembly that are qualified to compete for any key position and that is why we are moving round to mobilise party stakeholders to support our agitation.”

Hon. Bolaji Repete, the deputy national youth leader of the party,,who also confirmed the meeting said southwest is leaving no stone unturned to secure the speakership position for Oyo State in the 9th Assembly.

Repete also disclosed that a larger meeting of some of the national Executive committee of the party has been fixed for next week Wednesday in Abuja.
