Sen. Adesoji Akanbi has expressed satisfaction with the visit of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to Ondo State.
For close to four years, the party has been enmeshed in leadership crisis.
Tinubu, OYO INSIGHT recalls, was in Akure, the Ondo State capital yesterday to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in the state.
I received with joy in my heart, the news of the All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, visiting Akure on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 to meet with all the aggrieved members of our dear party in Ondo state.
It is a time to take the bull by the horns and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s action has renewed our confidence that indeed we have true leaders with firm understanding of crisis management, one of the virtues Pa Obafemi Awolowo is always remembered for.
I stand with our party leaders in their commitment to fairness because they have shown to us that everyone will now matter in the new APC that will emerge from its internal issues across the states.
I wish to also commend our ‘Papa’,the former interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and other prominent leaders of the APC in the South-West for their efforts to save the party from destruction.
Most heartwarming for me is the decision of the aggrieved members that all factions of the party in Ondo state will reunite and work together towards victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
True progressive politics is about compromise for the greater good of all.
The members of the APC in Ondo state have shown that indeed, they are real progressives by sacrificing their personal gains and bearing pains in the interest of the party.
The lingering crisis in the state has been a deep source of concern for me and my supporters, considering what our party has been through in recent times and particularly in Oyo state where a similar crisis cost us dearly.
I am confident now, more than ever that our party will rise again and I seize this opportunity to appeal to our dear loyal members in Oyo state to be patient as such reconciliatory moves will soon get to us and our house shall be rebuilt.
I urge all party members in Ondo state to please stand behind our leaders to ensure that all their sacrifices do not be in vain.
This is also wishing our dear Asiwaju and all elders of our party more successes in all their efforts to reconcile the party members and get us back on the path of landslide victories.
Signed,
Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi
