An Inter-Town football competition organized by Seyi Adisa, the Oyo State House of Assembly member representing AFIJIO state constituency, begun today.
Driven by the aim to exemplify how sports can be practically used as a vehicle for youth and economic development, the Hon. Seyi Adisa Inter-Town Football Competition, tagged “AFIJIO 2019”, will involve all the 8 towns of Afijio, playing a total of 16 matches at 2 venues, and across 4-5 weeks between August and September 2019.
Talking about the competition, Adisa mentioned that sports development is the sauce of youth engagement, and we intend to establish this competition as a means of depicting the gains sports development from AFIJIO to the nation and to the world”.
The first match was played today, the14th of August, 2019, at the Awe High School football field.
