Senator Adesoji Akanbi has commended members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, for what he described as the commitment to rule of law and democratic tenets.
Akanbi, who represented Oyo South senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was reacting to yesterday’s appeal court judgement.
ALGON, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, had dragged the state government and Governor Seyi Makinde to court for sacking them. While judgement of the high court favoured them, the appeal filed by the state and Makinde was upheld.
Akanbi who said he had discussed with Hon. Abass Ayodele Alesinloye, promised to rally round major stakeholders to offer support for the prosecution of the case at the apex court.
He also urged all party members and lovers of progressives to remember ALGON in their prayers, adding that “this is a great opportunity for us all to unite and forge a common front,” he said.
