Insecurity is a major challenge facing the country, in a bid to reduce crime rate in the country, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Irepo Oorelope and Olorunsogo Federal constituency, Hon. Olumide Abiodun Ojerinde (Omo Oloore) today commissioned vehicles for Vigilantes in his constituency at Igbeti, Oyo State.
Hon. Olumide maintained that where there is no peace, there can be no development, hence, peace is a fundamental need in any society. He therefore commended the security agencies for a job weldone.
Also speaking, the Caretaker Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Yakub Adesola Tasoolo speaking on behalf of other Local Government Chairmen of Irepo and Olorunsogo said Oyo State government is doing everything possible to ensure security stability in the state.
Tasoolo however, admonished the people not to compromise security with religion and political affiliation.
Meanwhile, the guest speaker of the event, a retired police officer, ASP, Aleri Jacob, in his words said maintenance of public peace should be the main priority of security agencies. He added that they should also ensure to prevent crimes always
