They accused Lafi, as the experienced politician who has been councillor, supervisory councillor, vice-chairman, council chairman and state assembly member, is popularly known as being a member of the APC in the morning and of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the evening, a scenario that has now come to be termed ‘APCDP’ by political commentators on social media.

PETITION AGAINST THE ACTIONS OF HON. OLAFISOYE AKINMOYEDE (POPULARLY KNOWN AS HON. LAFI), REPRESENTING AKINYELE/LAGELU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

To Whom It May Concern,

We, the undersigned concerned leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagelu Local Government Chapter, write this petition with a deep sense of duty and urgency to call attention to the disruptive, divisive, and self-serving activities of Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede, the current Member representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and popularly known as Hon. Lafi.

It has become glaring that Hon. Akinmoyede’s conduct no longer aligns with the ideals, values, and vision of the APC. His actions are not only undermining the unity of the party in Lagelu, but are also working against our electoral and strategic interests across all 14 wards. What we are witnessing is not leadership, but manipulation, betrayal, and a desperate pursuit of personal ambition at the expense of the party and its loyal members.

Specific allegations include but are not limited to:
• Sabotaging APC’s chances in the last local government elections by actively discouraging and obstructing party mobilisation efforts.
• Allegedly funding and collaborating with PDP candidates, thereby empowering our political rivals while weakening the APC.
• Illegally forming a “Government of Unity” with PDP elements in Lagelu without the knowledge, consent, or participation of APC ward and local government stakeholders.
• Unilaterally nominating key political appointees, including council supervisors and the local government secretary, without due consultation with party leaders or structures.
• Consistently fraternising with PDP members and even inviting them to APC functions, thereby creating confusion and internal disaffection.
• Openly attacking APC aspirants, including ordering a loyal party member to issue an apology for refusing to feature a sitting PDP official in his private program — a move that reeks of political bullying and ideological confusion.

Hon. Akinmoyede has effectively hijacked the party structure in Lagelu, weaponising the party chairman as a pawn in his schemes, and frustrating efforts to convene party meetings that would foster unity and strategic alignment. His tactics suggest a deliberate agenda to weaken APC in Lagelu, in anticipation of his rumored defection or realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We ask pointedly:
• What is the value of a party leader who constantly sides with the opposition?
• How long will APC leaders in Oyo State remain silent while one man turns a progressive platform into a personal empire?
• Who exactly is Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede representing — the APC, the PDP, or himself?

Our demands are clear:

We respectfully but firmly call on the APC State Working Committee, the Oyo State Chairman, and all relevant party authorities to urgently:
1. Investigate these serious breaches of party discipline and loyalty;
2. Restore proper party structure and leadership participation in Lagelu;
3. Caution and, if necessary, discipline Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede before further damage is done to our party’s reputation and effectiveness in Lagelu Local Government.

The APC in Lagelu is not a personal business. It belongs to the people. It must be rescued before it’s completely dismantled by the reckless ambition of one man.

We are ready to engage constructively for the good of our party, but we will not sit back and watch the legacy of APC in Lagelu be buried under political treachery.

Signed:
Elder Oyegoke Akande
Hon. Sanjo A. A.
Mrs. Akanbi Iyabode
Mrs. Egberongbe Ajibike
Hon. Akinlabi
