Re: “Zacch: The One Man Who Could Singlehandedly Hand Oyo To APM, Cost President Tinubu In 2027” — A Misleading And Baseless Narrative

Our attention has been drawn to an opinion article authored by one Ade Ibitokun and published by Wordspired, alleging that Dr. Zacch Adedeji is solely responsible for the affairs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and that his actions could jeopardize the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.

As the South-West Unity Forum, we categorically state that the publication is false, speculative, mischievous, and deliberately crafted to create disaffection within the APC family.

The APC is a structured political party governed by its Constitution, guidelines, and established organs at the ward, local government, state, zonal, and national levels. Decisions relating to party administration, candidate selection, and electoral strategy are never the responsibility of one individual. To suggest otherwise is both misleading and an insult to the collective leadership of the party.

Dr. Zacch Adedeji is a respected public servant whose primary assignment is to serve Nigeria diligently in his current national responsibility. He has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the APC and has never claimed ownership of the party or its structures in Oyo State. Attempts to portray him as the architect of imaginary divisions are nothing more than a calculated effort to tarnish his reputation and sow seeds of discord.

It is equally unfortunate that the writer based his arguments on unverified allegations, rumours, and assumptions rather than facts. Responsible political commentary should promote unity, constructive engagement, and respect for due process, not sensationalism and propaganda.

The South-West Unity Forum therefore calls on all APC members and supporters to disregard the publication in its entirety. At this critical period, our collective focus should be on strengthening the party, fostering reconciliation where necessary, and working together to secure overwhelming victories for the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in 2027.

We urge all stakeholders to refrain from inflammatory publications capable of overheating the political atmosphere. The APC remains united, strong, and fully committed to internal democracy, party supremacy, and inclusive leadership.

Together, we shall continue to build a stronger APC for the benefit of Oyo State, the South-West, and Nigeria as a whole.

Signed:

Dr. Rasheed Oyebisi

Secretary, South-West Unity Forum
