The Joint Campus Committee of the National Association of Nigerian Student, NANS, in Oyo State will hold a peaceful walk over the incessant killing of students on Akinyele local government area of Ibadan.
The decision to hold the peaceful walk was announced by the Acting Chairman of JCC in Oyo State, Mr. Fadare Blessing, in a statement made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM.
The statement read,”An injustice to one is an injustice to all. Due to the incessant and serial killing of our dear students in atea of Akinyele Local Government, we have deemed it fit to express our dissatisfaction with both the local government, state government and security personnel in the state and our country at large.
“On this note, the association has scheduled to hold a peaceful walk Akinyele to demand for: Justice for all our dear students who have been murdered in area of Akinyele; Increase and strict security measures for both students and occupants of Akinyele LGA, and Oyo state at large; and attention should be giving to students, and tertiary institutions in the state.”
The converging point for the protest was Akingbile Community High School, Akinyele.
“We are scared, and we don’t know the next victim. Justice and secured environment for ourselves is our plea,” the statement added.
