RAMADHAN: Makinde, Buhari, Alli Greet Muslims

As Muslims all over the world begin the month of Ramadhan, the trio of Oyo State governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde, Sen. AbdulFatai Buhari of Oyo North senatorial district and a former secretary to the state government, Barr. Sharafadeen Alli have congratulated them.
PRAY, WORK FOR UNITY, PEACE— SEYI MAKINDE
 
 
The Oyo State Governor-elect, Engr Seyi Makinde has urged Muslim faithfuls in Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole to work and pray for the progress of the state and the country.
 
In a release signed by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Governor Elect stated that the unabated kidnapping, insecurity and rising unemployment in the country deserve our collective efforts to salvage the country from the  precipice of virtual peril.
 
He said hard work and prayers are the only way out of this untold dilemma in which we have found ourselves.
 
Makinde prayed to Allah that  this Ramadan activities will greatly reduce all vices that  are inimical to the progress and unity of this great country.
 
 
 
REFRAIN FROM SINFUL BEHAVIOR — BUHARI 
 
Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the upper chamber of National Assembly has urged Muslim faithful to refrain from any sinful behaviour that may negate their reward of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
 
 
He gave this admonition in a congratulatory message to Muslim faithful on the commencement of Ramadan fasting.
 
 
The lawmaker said the spiritual rewards of the holy month are  too numerous to lose because of frivolity and other forms immoral acts.
 
 
He urged them to also ensure increased in offering of sacrifices, charity,  supplications, and recitation of the holy Quran.
 
 
He said further that they should  assist and share foods and gifts with the needy as well as remember people that are down with ailment and unable to observe the holy month in prayers and supplications .
 
 
The message continued that “We should also concern ourselves with prayers for the leadership of this country,  no doubt Nigeria is experiencing some difficulties which require divine intervention and our prayers will go a long way in getting Allah’s attention for solution”.
 
 
“In a time like this as a nation, all we need is divine intervention through our prayers and supplications to Almighty God to help our leaders in stemming the tides of insecurity and bless our nation more as we prepare to go into another political dispensation”.
 
ALLI TASKS FASTING MUSLIMS TO PRAY FOR ECONOMIC BUOYANCE OF OYO 
 
 
The gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in the recently concluded 2019 election in Oyo state, Alhaji Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, on Monday tasked fasting Muslims in the state to use the opportunity of the holy month to pray for the economic rejuvenation of the state.
 
 
Alli, a former Secretary to the State  Government in a Ramadan message personally signed by him to the Muslims in the state, appealed to them to pray fervently for a greater Oyo state, where quality of lives will be in abundance.
 
 
Alli, a member of the coalition political parties that berthed the incoming administration of Mr. Seyi Makinde also called for prayers for peace, security, and understanding among the political class to lift the fortune of the people of the state across Ibadan, Ibarapa, Oyo, Ogbomoso and Oke Ogun areas.
 
 
“The next phase is for us to use the opportunity of this Ramadan to pray for the forgiveness of all our sins and for the political class to lift the masses out of poverty, want and deprivation. We must pray and be ready to work, to meet the demands of the populace.
 
 
“As a firm believer in Allah’s unending love and mercy, I know that all our prayers for the good of our society will be answered. Lets us make economic buoyance of our dear state, our number one prayer point, in this Ramadan. May Allah (SWT) accept all our supplications,” Alli added.
