The South West Agenda 2023 for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu under Distinguished Senator Adedayo Adeyeye has felicitated with Muslims across the country over the commencement of the Holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement on Thursday, the group urged Muslims to see the month as another opportunity to preach love, peace and oneness in the country.
The statement read: “We thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to participate in this sacred religious exercise once more. It is our fervent prayers that Allah be pleased to keep us alive to participate in many more of this. Amen
“The Ramadan period provides opportunities for Spiritual, emotional and physical renewal for all Moslems globally as we uphold one of the five pillars of Islam thus setting the pace for our spiritual revival in terms of increased devotion to God, self denial of physical and emotional pleasures and lessons in self disciple.
“Physically, Ramadan period affords all the opportunities to improve our physical wellbeing as we are admonished to deny ourselves the pleasures from food, by periodic abstinence and eating right as and when due.
“Emotionally we urge both moslems and non moslems alike to look out for one-another, consider the needy and the less privileged and make provisions for them as show of love, emotional care and humanity with a view to make the world a better place and to ensure that oneness, unity of purpose and brotherliness is returned to our land in Nigeria as of old. It is our believe that this will help to improve our security situation and living conditions necessary to birth the Nigeria of our dream.
“We must all live together and condemn what ever is condemnable and commend whatever is commendable without ethnic profiling and coloration.
“We wish every Nigerian a true time of general rebirth and God’s favor.
“We use the opportunity of this Holy month to pray for Nigeria to prevail over its adversaries while we also pray for our principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for long life, good health and grace of God to fulfill his aspirations and dreams for a new Nigeria.”
