It was prayer galore at the Gedu, Oyo residence of Engr. Idris Adeoye, over the weekend, as people gathered to collect their Ramadan package.
It would be recalled that Engr. Idris Adeoye and his wife Hajia Halimah Adeoye, have through their Igba Oore To Foundation, been assisting indigent people with finances and food items before, during and after Ramadan.
According to them, “It’s a normal thing for us. It’s something we have been doing for long. It is not only doing Ramadan. We have a lot of programmes in the foundation. We pay school fees of indegent but brilliant students. We assist communities with projects. We assist the needy with cash and food items.
“We pray God continue to bless us. As long as we continue to be here, we won’t stop at anything to assist our people. We know what it means not to have anything to eat. Note that this is not political. This is from what God has blessed us with it and nothing more.
“My husband isn’t contesting any election though he is a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Elders Advisory Council in Oyo State. We pray Allah continue to give us the mind to assist people. We also know the blessing that is assisting people.
“We don’t assist Muslims alone. We don’t even use religion to select our beneficiaries. You see many Muslims here because it is Ramadan. We have done similar thing for our Christian brethren in the just concluded Lenten period. In fact, it is difficult to see a family without the two religion adherents where we come from.
“We pray God continue to assist other people so that we can have many people who will be keen to assist people. We pray we do more of this Ramadan on the earth surface,” Hajia Halimah explained.
