As Ramadan begins in less than 24 hours, Faozey Nurudeen Oladotun, an All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial aspirant in Oyo Central, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to members of his party and residents.
The distribution which took place in Oyo, Faozey’s hometown, saw representatives of APC across the wards as well as organizations coming to pick their share.
Faozey, while chatting with OYOINSIGHT.COM, said it was borne out of the need to show love and as well ease masses’ burden occasioned by the economic downturn.
He added that this was not the first time he would be doing this. “You are seeing this in large number because of the period we are. We have always been extending our hands to people. But for this, we thought of having a collection center,” he said.
Urging Muslims to use the fasting period to seek God’s face in confronting the myriads of problems confronting the country and the state.
“Let’s use this Holy month of Ramadan to seek God’s face. We are confronted with many problems and only a divine intervention can help us. Let’s pray for our leaders so as to be able to make right decisions.
“We must not forget our neighbours, especially the needy. No matter how small, lets show love to them. I pray Allah accept all our acts of worship in the Holy month as an act of Ibadah,” the ICT expert advised.
