Police React As Ibadan’s Most Wanted Thug, Ekugbemi, Reportedly Killed, 15 Others Injured

One of Ibadan’s most wanted thugs, Moshood Oladokun, who is popularly known as Ekugbemi, has been reportedly killed.
Ekugbemi, who is also popularly known as Jesu Idi-Arere, was said to have been killed during a fracas with members of a rival cult.
Though details of his death were sketchy as at press time, OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt that he was matcheted around Olomi Olunde Saturday afternoon .
His gang was said to be locked in a supremacy battle with another deadly gang led by wanted ‘Ebola’, leader of the dreaded ‘One million boys.’
Another report said that the fracas occurred at Born Photo area, Idi Arere, Ibadan.
Naija Examiner reporter that sounds of deafening sporadic gun shots boomed in the area on Saturday evening, causing panic among the residents of Gege, Ita-Saku, Ita-Maya and Oke-Ado areas of Ibadan.
Security was reportedly beefed up in the areas  on Saturday evening  following the  bloody clash between two rival groups in the area.
Bloody clashes among rival cult groups in the areas have claimed several lives in recent past, even forcing residents to flee  from the high risk areas due to incessant bloody clashes among the rival cults.
Although, the actual cause of the clash could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, it was gathered that shop owners and residents of the area were scampering for safety in the early hours of Saturday following sporadic gunshots between the warring groups.
An eyewitness said one person was badly injured during the fight that lasted more than one hour.
He, however, said that the condition of the injured person could not be determined as he was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
When contacted for reaction, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the incident.
He said men of the command had been deployed to the scene to avert total breakdown of law and order.
Fadeyi stressed, “There was a clash. The police had been in the area since the incident happened in order to calm the situation. Our men are still on the ground to make sure that there is no breakdown of law and order.”
In a statement issued by the state Police Command , said two persons (Babatunde Oladapo and Ibrahim Abisoye) have been arrested, and the tension had been doused by security operatives .
The statement entitled ”Disturbance of public peace/suspected murder”, signed by the state Police Command spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi, a Superintendent of Police (SP) reads “About 4pm, a report was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Sanyo, Ibadan that one Mosudi Ekugbemi of Olunde area was allegedly fatally macheted by a group of area boys/social miscreants led by Ebila Biola during an open fight that occurred when Ebila group were purportedly trying to collect land royalty from one Babatunde, who was roofing his building.
“But some social miscreants at Mapo, Born Photo and Agbadagudu in Bere area attempted to take advantage through circulation (rumour) of the alleged death of Mosudi Ekugbemi.”
