PHOTOS: Sunday Igboho Declares Support For Lanlehin, Explains Why He Dumped Ladoja

Businessman and auto dealer, Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho has revealed why he decided to remain in the African Democratic Congress, ADC, despite overtures by former governor Rashidi Ladoja to follow him to the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP.

Igboho, who spoke at the campaign flag off of the ADC governorship candidate, Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, in Iseyin, explained that he decided to support Lanlehin rather than follow Chief Ladoja to another party because “we have waited for 12 years to make things right but the time is now to make sure we return the state to its enviable height”.

This was after Lanlehin had promised to build higher institution of learning in the town if elected.

At the event which held in front of the palace of the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba AbdulGaniyu Salau, Lanlehin explained that “The most important thing is to see to the happiness of the people. So all policies, all activities, all actions will be geared towards reducing the suffering of our people and ensuring their progress.

“We will build a befitting tertiary institution in Iseyin because Iseyin people are learned”.

He also promised to construct new roads in Iseyin and the entire Oke Ogun if he is elected.

“Everything we’re going to do will be geared towards the progress and welfare of our people. What we want to do is to make sure that our people are well fed, well educated and housed.

“We will make people friendly policies and make the people of the state happy. We will set up and help small scale businesses. We don’t need to go overseas. Everything we need is here.

“To a large extent, we’ll concentrate on Agriculture which will bring food to the table of our people and concentrate on cottage industries which will process and add value to some of the farm products produced by our people, so that at the end of the day, they will be self sufficient.

In his response, Oba Salau thanked Lanlehin and his team for the honour. He said: “I will make sure that there’s interconnectivity between the towns. The roads between the towns are so bad. We must make sure they are in good order.”

In his own address, the National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph Nwosu described the party as a party of peace and urged supporters and contesters to ensure a peaceful.

While addressing the crowd, the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Hammed Ayinla described APC as “party that embraces all comers and gives equal opportunities to all”.

In attendance were party leaders and chieftains, the deputy governorship candidate of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Saheed, Senator Monsurat Sumonu, Senator Soji Akanbi, Honourable Dapo Lam-Adesina and others.
