Sunday Dare, minister of youth and sports development, Friday afternoon paid a condolence visit to the widow of late comrade Yinka Odumakin in Omole Estate Lagos.
Odumakin, who was the spokesman for pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, had died on Saturday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Covid Isolation Centre.
Seen as a strong critic of many other politicians in the country, Odumakin was in the forefront of agitation for restructuring, fiscal federalism, decentralized policing as solutions to the country’s socio-economic challenges.
A sober Dare would later write in the condolence register: “YINKA was indeed a patriot – committed, progressive, unrelenting. He gave his best till the very end. Rest In Peace in the Bossom of your creator.”
