It was commendation galore for the lawmaker representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiodun Olasupo yesterday as he commissioned a motorized borehole project in Itan area of Iseyin local government.
The lawmaker, who alongside the former chairman of the council area, Hon. Saheed Alaran graced this year’s Itan Community Day ceremony, promised support towards the building of a community hall.
While addressing the people at the held which took place at Onitan Primary School, Itan, Olasupo said the essence of public representation is for the people to benefit dividends of democracy accruable for their wellbeing.
According to him, his party- African Democratic Congress, ADC, would deliver on good governance and quality representation.
“This is part of the reasons you elected me. I am not doing this because you did not have any source of water before but because most sources of our water are not hygienic. They cause us myriads of diseases which the motorized borehole would put a stop to.
“We are the real progressive-minded in ADC. The long abandoned collapsed bridge at Itan was reconstructed by my leader, Alhaji Saheed Alaran while he has also constructed the road linking Itan to Isalu through Aseyin High School which no other administration has ever dome for this community.
“We enjoin you to keep your faith with ADC. We will not disappoint you and we shall deliver more on the good things that will add value to the standard of living of our people,” he said.
A community leader, Mr Ademola Adeleke who prayed for the lawmaker for deeming it fit to give the water project to the area where its need was pressing, assured the party leaders of ADC at the gathering that the community would keep its support for the party alive.
He said testimonial projects were at hand in the community to show that the leadership of the party in Iseyin local government were the real lovers of development.
“Yoruba people say he who gives water, gives life. The young and the old in Itan today appreciate the gesture of Hon
Olasupo Abiodun which is notable among other things he has been doing in his constituency. We also appreciate the leadership of the ADC that have always kept the love of our community at their hearts. We are assuring you that we will always give our support to ADC.”
