Hours after the visit of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to President Bola Tinubu, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade was at the Ikoyi private residence of the country’s helmsman.
The monarch, who was in company of his wife, arrived at the president’s residence in the evening of Tuesday and the meeting lasted hours.
Though details of the visit, which came after Tinubu met Sharafadeen Alli, senator representing Oyo South district and one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, keen political observers have linked it to 2027 politics.
Only yesterday, the monarch dismissed speculations suggesting a rift between him, governor Seyi Makinde, and Oba Rashidi Ladoja, insisting that their relationships remain cordial.
He had said that if any issues arises, it would be resolved privately. “I have nothing against the government. The governor has been very nice. If there is anything, I will meet him one-on-one,” the monarch said.
