Barr Olatubosun Oladele and other members of the Economic Community of West Africa States, ECOWAS, parliamentare currently attending the African Union Summit on the popularization of the protocol on free movement of trade and persons within Africa at Nairobi, Kenya.

Oladele, a former commissioner for information in Oyo State, became a member of the ECOWAS parliament in 2015 when he was elected to represent Irepo/Olorunsogo/Oorelope federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

Speaking to OYO INSIGHT on what the summit seeks to achieve, Oladele explained that “AU needs the regional parliaments to buy into this since it has been agreed by member states. Then we need to adopt it at the regional levels and then get each country to domesticate it.”
