Rauf Aregbesola, Nigeria’s interior minister, Sunday afternoon visited the Ojoo, Ibadan private office of the Raufu Olaniyan, deputy governor of Oyo State.
The meeting which lasted close to an hour behind closed door, occurred moment after the former Osun governor arrived the state capital from Oyo town, a less than one hour drive.
Aregbesola had gone to inspect the extent of damage at the Abolongo Prisons which was Friday night attacked by yet to be identified criminals.
Olaniyan, OYOINSIGHT.COM learnt, had initially went to receive the minister, his long-time friend and associate at the Ibadan airport, before Aregbesola went to Oyo.
Though this newspaper could not get details of their meeting as at press time, the visit came few days after a credible online news platform reported plans to impeach the deputy governor. The house of assembly has, however, denied such plot.
Despite promise of harmonious working relationship between Makinde and Olaniyan during electioneering campaign, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that there is a frosty relationship between them.
