The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in March 9, 2019 governorship election in Oyo State, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, seems to have put his loss at the poll behind him.
OYO INSIGHT recalled that the 48-year old lost his bid to succeed Governor Abiola Ajimobi to Engr Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Yesterday at his Bayo Adelabu Foundation Hall at Jericho, Ibadan, Penkelemesi, as Adelabu is popularly called, hosted friends, supporters and members of his party to thank them for their support.
This was after Adelabu had observed Jumat prayer at the Bodija Estate and Environs Muslims Community, BEEMC, Mosque.
Adelabu, who was the immediate past deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, had surprised many worshippers when he drove himself, together with his friends, in a black LS 460 Lexus sports utility vehicle, to the Mosque around 1:00 pm.
On Thursday, he had driven himself to Ose Olorun restaurant, popularly called Amala Skye, at Bodija, to eat.
Adelabu’s recent moves, according to political watchers, are preparatory to the 2023 election.
Those who attended yesterday’s event said “He just appreciated them generally and asked them to be preparing for 2023.”
