Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, has assured the Super Falcons of continuous support from the Federal Government in their bid to qualify for the women’s football event of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Dare who visited the Falcons training at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja promised them that their welfare will be taken care of.
He made the assurances via his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
“This morning I visited the Super Falcons during their training at the MoshoodAbiola Stadium Abuja. I gave inspiring words and assured them that the government will ensure their welfare. I told them Nigerians will expect only victories in their remaining qualifiers,” he tweeted.
The Falcons had lamented the N55,000 win bonus paid to each player after their 1-0 win over Algeria in second leg match of the 2020 Olympic Games qualifier at the Agege Stadium, Lagos on September 3.
They are set to face Ivory Coast in the first leg of the next round of the qualifier in Abidjan, while the return leg will be played at the Agege Stadium on October 6.
A total of 37 players have been invited to camp for the tie.
