Speaking at the venue, the initiator of the competition, a member of the House of Representatives, representing lseyin/ltesiwaju/ Kajola/lwajowa Federal Constituency, Honourable Shina Peller,
lauded semi-finalists at the ongoing football competition.

It will be recalled that 10 local government areas in the Oke-Ogun axis are participating in the football tournament and they are: Olorunsogo, Itesiwaju, Irepo, Olorunsogo, Saki East, Orelope, Kajola, Iwajowa, Iseyin, and Saki West.

Peller commended the four teams from Itesiwaju and Iseyin local governments for putting their best since the start of the competition.

Peller noted that the purpose of the competition has been successfully achieved through unity, love, and youth empowerment.

According to him, “Fortunately, we have two teams each from Iseyin and Itesiwaju local governments. I believe the semi-finalists deserved to be at this stage; they put in their best and it paid off. It was a coincidence and it makes football more beautiful.
” I told the organizer that the 10 local governments are all my favorites and I want the best and I give kudos to the organizer for a good job.

“Expect a good game in the final as we have the best team in the final of this year’s competition, this is a huge success to me.
About 20 teams participated in the qualifying stage and now we have the best teams that will entertain us in the last four.

“Even as the football competition is still going on, we already had about two players that have been penciled down by scouts and they have been asked to report to the training session.

“We will postpone the final till after Ramadan because we want everybody to go and relax and have a proper well-planned final thaw that will come after Ramadan. We thanked God that at least the youth of the Oke-Ogun have been engaged for the past one month playing across local government.

“The reason why we put Peller Unity Cup together is to engage the youth and also to promote unity in these diverse communities. The reason why we have done this competition has been justified because now I can tell you that the youths are now more engaged and now looking forward to the final which of the cause even after the competition come in with musical concert where we will have artist across Nigeria to put Oke-Ogun region again in the world map. We have done it before but this year’s edition will be different.”
