A member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Oyo state, Hon. Shina Peller, yesterday made a monetary donation of two million (N2M) towards the construction of Iseyin Police Area Command edifice being facilitated by the host community, Koso.

Hon. Peller made the donation after visiting and inspecting the razed Iseyin Police station set ablaze by hoodlums about two weeks ago during an ‘EndSARS’ protest. Hon. Peller who was devastated by the level of damages done to the only existing police station in Iseyin, urged the people to guard against such an ugly occurrence in the future.

In the same vein, he explained that he decided to extend his moral and financial support to the Iseyin Police Area Command project due to his desire for a secured and peaceful environment, adding that where there is no security and peace, there will never be progress and desirable development.

Hon. Peller said,
“I consider security and peace as essential enablers of development and societal growth. Sadly, the only existing police station we had in Iseyin has been set ablaze by hoodlums, and we are now left with no police station. So, I am donating two million naira as my own contribution towards making the Area Command project a reality as soon as possible.

“I will also like to use this avenue to charge us all to start guarding against destruction of public properties and facilities by hoodlums or any bad element in the society. The fact is that public properties are our properties, and so we should make it a point of duty to protect them against destruction bearing in mind that these facilities are not even enough for us in the first place.”
