Oyo State has recorded 117 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 9 days, data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, sighted by OYOINSIGHT.COM have shown.
According to NCDC, Oyo recorded one new case of COVID-19 on December 25 and seven on December 26, 2020.
On December 27, eight new cases were recorded and 16 on December 28, 2020.
No new case of the virus was recorded on December 29 and 31 but 30 cases were recorded on December 30, 2020.
On January 1st, 2021 four new cases were recorded
Only yesterday, the state recorded 51, cases, bringing the total cases in 9 days to 117.
Meanwhile, 5 persons have reportedly died of COVID-19 complications in Oyo on Saturday.
The figures, according to PMNews, were the latest statistics released by the NCDC last night.
Oyo, the fifth most affected state by the virus in Nigeria, with 3,994 cases, now has a death toll of 51.
