One of Ibadan’s famous compound heads, Mogaji Abass Oloko, has commended the women wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State for pledging their support for the gubernatorial ambition of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi.
Describing the visit as a needed motivation for the aspiration, Oloko said Sanusi, who is the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, deserves all the support he has got since people begged him to run for the 2027 elections.
He said he was even taken by surprise as the visit came when those who should be bold enough to support the aspiration of Sanusi are threatening party members in their council areas against supporting anyone until their principal gives direction.
According to Oloko, “I salute the PDP local government women leaders from all 11 local government areas of Ibadanland, 4 local government areas of Oyo, and 3 local government areas of Ibarapa Zone for coming together to offer support for our brother and great philanthropist.
“They have made a bold move and this has not only boosted Chief Sanusi’s chances, it has energized some of us who are going from house to house telling key stakeholders the reason why this good man should be governor of our state from 2027.
”Rest assured, this man is someone who will repay all the efforts you have made in the past that you are not made to benefit from. He doesn’t forget those who are with him. In fact, if he can put smiles on the faces of those who did nothing for him, yours is assured.
”And hear me, this man is coming to correct many things. He wouldn’t say what he won’t do. He takes note of everything. You are all aware of what he has done even before now. May God bless the soul of late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo & Delta, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola. That is the person that Chief Sanusi is second to in terms of philanthropy in recent times. And he doesn’t even do it because of politics.
“Like I have always told those who ask me about Chief Sanusi, it is better we support him to take over from 2027. He combines the wisdom of politics and governance. He would manage politicians and technocrats better.
“So I salute these women of courage for what they have done. Chief Sanusi knows the importance of what you have done. God bless you all, Oloko added.
