This is not the best of times for the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ona Ara local government, Comrade Sola Bakare, as his son was one of those killed in an Ido-Ani, Ondo State armed robbery attack carried on the only bank in the town.
No fewer than six persons lost their lives in Ido Ani on Monday when a gang of armed robbers attacked the First Bank branch in the town.
The young Bakare, who was until his death the banch manager of the bank, was survived by parents, wife and children.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the party have paid a condolence visit to the Bakares.
Describing the incident as sad, shocking and painful, the state chairman of the party, Alh Kunmi Mustapha, in a statement by the party’s spokesperson, Engr Akeem Olatunji, said that “God knows the best and understands the circumstances surrounding the young man’s sudden departure from us and we pray to God, to give his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
The PDP delegation was led by the State party Chairman, Alh Kunmi Mustapha, and in the entourage was the State Secretary, Alh Wasiu Adeleke, State Women Leader, Alhaja Wulemot Ibitoye and State Financial Secretary, Mr Arinola Akeem.
