Oyo Board Chairmen Slash Salaries To Fight COVID-19

Chairmen of Boards, Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies in Oyo state have volunteered to a 50% pay cut in their net salaries with immediate effect.

This was the unanimous decision of representatives of the Chairmen at a meeting held in Ibadan today.

According to a reliable source, the decision was reached in the light of the unprecedented financial situations brought about by the rampaging corona virus and the urgent steps which the state government has been taken to stem the spread of the disease.

The meeting commended the pro active steps taken by government so far and it’s plans to avoid the chaotic manner which followed the distribution of palliatives in many states and the federal capital.

Among those who attended the meeting were Barrister Bayo Lawal, Hon Remi Ayodele, Pastor Akin Alamu, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Dr Musah Abdulwasi, Bishop Demola Moradeyo, Mr Temi Adibi, Mr Dare Adeleke, Dr Nureni Adeniran, Mr John Adeleke, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi among others.
