Oyo APC Reps Primaries Peaceful, Transparent — C’tee Chair, Alabi

Prof. Mojeed Alabi, Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primaries Committee in Oyo State, has described the exercise across the 14 federal constituencies as peaceful, transparent and credible.

He made the disclosure on Saturday during a news conference held at the Oke-Ado secretariat of the APC in Oyo State.

Alabi said the primaries were conducted successfully without violence, disruption or complaints, adding that party members demonstrated maturity, discipline and commitment throughout the electoral process held across the 351 wards.

He said that 74 House of Representatives member were cleared to participate in the primaries across the 14 federal constituencies in Oyo State, while only five out 12 senatorial aspirants were cleared.

“We have gone round today to monitor the exercise and its been hitch-free. We are to ensure the exercise was smoothly conducted. We will collate the outcome and submit to the National Secretariat.

“If there is any grievance from the exercise, such should be reported to the Appeal Committee already set up for that purpose,” he said.

Alabi commended APC officials for ensuring compliance with the party’s electoral guidelines, noting that transparency and fairness characterised the conduct of the exercise.

According to him, aspirants and their supporters displayed sportsmanship before, during and after the exercise, contributing significantly toward the peaceful atmosphere recorded in all participating federal constituencies statewide.

Alabi expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination and logistics deployed during the primaries, stressing that the seamless conduct reflected the party’s preparedness ahead of forthcoming general electoral contests.

He also applauded security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the exercise, saying their professionalism and vigilance helped to prevent any form of intimidation, violence or electoral malpractice.

Alabi urged all aspirants and party faithful to remain united after the primaries, emphasising that collective commitment and reconciliation remained crucial toward ensuring victory for APC in future elections.

Among those present at the news conference are the State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, APC Zonal Monitoring Committee Chairman, Chief Ayo Afolabi and other officials of the party.
