If democracy is of the people,for the people and by the people,then the voice of the people must be made to sound loud and clear that this is not how they want to be administered. According to Stephen R. Covey in his book: The 8th Habit proclaims that the most important habit of the 21st century is to help people find their voice.
Way Forward is a Progressive Movement within APC,Oyo state and it aims to help the party members find their voice and getting the passive majority to become the moral majority which re-orients APC and gets party supremacy centered on constitutionalism back on tracks. This movement is desirous that APC must rise up again and that God will heal our party for us to rise up again. Way Forward is calling on all Progressive ideological minded people to come together and let’s work to see a regeneration of Oyo state politicians into an era of citizen- politician dedicated to a production economy and the pursuit of the escape from existence moles,and not that of godfathers who exchange goalposts at halftime. The movement is calling for building partnership in bond between the artisan class, a new rural farmei class, and an emergent youth mass entrepreneurs class. By my further understanding,our purpose as a movement,is to serve the course of Truth and Progress for all the people, especially party members. As people of conscience, we recognize as Sheikh Uthman Dan Fodio said that conscience is an open wound,only truth can heal it. As we see it right now our party is unraveling; only truth can save it. At Way Forward our action plan is a pursuit of denied truth.
For the avoidance of doubt,our only interest lies in creating an inclusive democratic party which is a sin qua none towardsthe provision of a decent stakeholding conditions for members, and,also the facilitation of prosperity for every Oyo indigenes. It is also our desire to rescue our fellow party members from lack of due processes in the party.
Clarion Call To The Promoters
Permit me to further remind us that,every promoter of the movement is expected to be a member of immense conscience and credibility; who is resolved to give full and total Commitment and loyalty to The Way Forward agenda of rescuing APC in our dear state. Please, there’s room for expansion of this team, but permit to reiterate we must consider the followings before adding new members: Whoever is coming must be committed and must be seen to be not playing diabolical roles. We need members who are politically conscious and out to rescue the floundering ship of our party in solidarity with other Like-minded members of APC. Furthermore,our members are therefore expected to be detribalised, non- discriminatory change champions and ideologues with positive values.
In conclusion, we will be ready to work and support the state APC reconciliation Committee ably led by H.E. Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala as we recommend the expansion of the membership to accomplish the desired results of genuine and lasting peace and progress in synergies along with the National Reconciliation Committee of H.E Chief Bisi Akande.
