In the recently concluded primary election of the Young Progressives Party after the former Gubernatorial Candidate; Mr. Kehinde Ogunniyi withdrew from the race, Mrs Aduragbemi Animashaun Euba has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the party.
The Primary was held on Tuesday at the party secretariat in Ibadan, the state capital.
The winner, Mrs Aduragbemi Animasawun contested alongside Mrs Agbomeji Olamide and Mr Salau Alowonle who was absent.
The primaries was a direct election with one delegate from each local government of Oyo State, 33 local governments, 32 delegates were accredited and one local government was absent.
Election started around 12:40pm and finished at 1pm.
Mrs Aduragbemi Animasawun won the election as candidate with 25 votes while Agbomeji Olamide polled 3 votes, and 4 votes were recorded as void.
The candidacy of Mrs Aduragbemi Animasawun was affirmed by the chairman of the Young Progressives party Primaries, Chief Adigun Abdulsemiu.
During the press brief with the candidate elect Mrs Aduragbemi Animashau said “it is a day of joy and I am happy to be elected as the gubernatorial candidate of YPP, I promise to give out my best to represent youths and of course lead the state on the path of development”.
Mrs Aduragbemi Animasawun is a successful bussiness woman, married and blessed with three kids.
Present during the primaries were the INEC Staff in Oyo state; Mr Abiodun Onikate Amosu, Barr Dapo Aderibigbe, Mr Wahab Akeem, Mrs Wumi Balogun and Mrs Fumilayo Adeyemo.
