Veterans in movie industry have thrown their weight behind the Oyo South Senatorial District candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Abiola Ajimobi, to emerge winner at the upcoming elections on Saturday, 16th Of February, 2019.
Speaking in one voice at a roadshow for the candidate in Ibadan yesterday, the actors made clear that a vote for Governor Abiola Ajimobi to the senate is Oyo South’s best shot at efficient and effective representation that will eventually impact on the district and rub off on the entire Southwest region.
“As a senator who once served as a principal officer in the Upper Chamber, as well as the first two-term governor in the state, is clearly in a good stead to offer the best possible representation,” in the words of Rasaq Olasunkanmi Olayiwola, popularly known as “Ojopagogo”.
Another of the thespians, Akin Lewis, said, “Ajimobi has garnered enormous goodwill and respect within the top echelon of the APC and the progressives family since his foray into politics, his vast network of influence would be in the people’s best interest.”
In his own words, Governor Ajimobi described the APC as the party of the people, adding that it is only right for people to vote for the party at all levels in the elections in order to maintain the ideal of good governance.
Ajimobi said, “You know us very well and you know the APC major challengers in the coming election like the back of your hand. We are the progressives and you know that we stand for the promotion of the welfare of the people.
“The APC remains the best option for a country still battling to recover from the 16 years of crass ineptitude and misapplication of funds. We should not entrust this fragile economy in the hands of those who will use our commonwealth to enrich their friends.
“I’m soliciting your support to vote for President Muhahmmadu Buhari and all of us contesting in this election under the platform of our great party. Only the APC has what it takes to take our country to the next level of development.
“Today, the Senate has become a place where states desirous of rapid development send their best hands. Send me and I promise you effective and efficient that will not only impact on Oyo South, but rub off on the entire South West.”
