Founder of the pioneer online betting company in Nigeria, NairaBet, Oloye Akin Alabi yesterday submitted his expression and nomination forms at the national secretariat of All Progressives Congress, APC.
Alabi, who is one of the youngest Ibadan Mogajis, wants to represent the people of Egbeda/Ona Ara in the House of Representatives, Abuja.
For close to a decade, Alabi has assisted many people, especially young entrepreneurs. Only last year, close to 6000 young people got financial assistance to start their own business from the Ibadan-born Manchester United football club supporter.
Communities in the federal constituency have continuously enjoyed Alabi as he has always brought smiles to their faces.
A chieftain of the APC, Alhaji Suara Quadri, who spoke with OYO INSIGHT said: “Not long ago, roads in more than 20 communities were graded. He also helped reconstructed a 2km road in a community where he grew up. There is an ongoing stadium project at Urban Day area of the constituency. There are many other things he has done. Women in this place will never forget him. The aged are not left out. He has a scheme where traders get support for their business. It is not a loan scheme, he supports them with money.
“Remember he has not stopped assisting our darling football club, Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC. He is patron of several organizations here and outside. Since he joined politics in 2013/ 2014, he has not travelled away from us Through his companies, he has employed many of our young ones, thereby eradicating joblessness and criminal activities,” he added.
