Loyalists of former governor Rashidi Ladoja will join the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, any moment from now, OYO INSIGHT has learnt.
They are said to be angry with the turn of events within the party, especially with the outcry generated by the selection of Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin as the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Thirteen aspirants have jostled for the party ticket. The 12 others have gone to court to seek redress over the selection process.
This year alone, Ladoja has moved from Accord to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before he joined the ADC.
This newspaper further learnt that the name of Ladoja’s ex-finance commissioner, Waheed Akanbi, has been submitted as the tentative candidate of ZLP in the 2019 governorship election in the state. This, it was learnt, was after former governor Olusegun Mimiko, who is ZLP’s presidential candidate, visited Ladoja.
As at the time of filing this report, Ladoja’s media aide was unavailable for comments
