Hon. Abiodun Awoleye has defected from the African Democratic Congress, ADC to seek a third term in the House of Representatives. OYO INSIGHT can authoritatively confirm that he has joined Accord.
Awoleye who was first elected to represent Ibadan North federal constituency in 2011 on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, represented Ibadan North Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP.
He had joined the ADC after his bid to secure the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship ticket hit the rock. He was said to have been considered for a return ticket in the ADC before a younger brother of a former governor and leader of the party, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, Abiola Ladoja, was considered for the position.
Though he was unavailable for comments, his media aide confirmed the development, promising to get back to this newspaper.
